Director of College Readiness. Education - Reading & Developmental Ed. in Rio Grande, OH

The University of Rio Grande/Rio Grande Community College invites applications for the position of
Director of College Readiness. The Director of College Readiness reports to the Provost/Vice
President of Academic Affairs and provides leadership in all developmental areas to provide students
with a solid foundation of skills and knowledge as they progress to college-level courses. Rio
Grande seeks to expand the current program and is committed to better meeting the needs of our
learners.
The College Readiness Program at the University of Rio Grande/Rio Grande
Community College addresses academic preparedness by helping students develop general and
program-specific learning strategies. Key goals for the program include ensuring proper placement by
assessment of learners' preparedness for college-level coursework; assisting each learner to develop
the skills and attitudes to reach his or her academic, career, and life goals; and maintaining
academic standards for all learners. Future responsibilities for this department may expand to
include Completion and First-Year Experience to assist students to be successful in these essential
areas.
